Pacific Pines RV Park, Florence, OR

We stopped here on the way up the coast for one night and decided to spend a week here on the trip down the coast. Great RV park however not for kids. All paved and no playground, no fire pit, no picnic table, no trees, no swimming pool. Satellite works, pool table and free strong WiFi is available. OK to wash RV and car on site. We booked seven days but ran out of things to do after two days. No shopping area only Fred Myers and BiRite. Also nearby Three Rivers Casino has free RV parking.

Fort Stevens State Park, Astoria, OR

The nicest and largest state park we have ever been to (174 full hookups and 302 electrical sites with water). Asphalt pad for parking RV, the rest dirt and pine neddles. Tall trees everwhere so much so it interferes with satellite reception. No WiFi but 50 amp service and sewer on loops M, L, H and I. Camping units ranged from tents to large RVs. Fire wood and propane delivered to your site. Nine miles of paved bike only paths. Autos allowed to drive on parts of beach other parts dedicated to sun bathers. Fred Meyers and Costco near by. Large fresh water lake with boat rentals. Reservations are open 9 months in advance. It would be easy to spend two weeks here. Campground was sold out when were here. Cost was $27 per day with 14 day maximum. Private KOA campground accross the street and Kampers West Campground down the street at $36 per night $216 per week. Both are okay but nothing like the state park. Temperatures during the end of July were mid sixties with very little sun. Jeans and sweatshirts are needed. Five miles of hiking trails plus the Lewis and Clark trail and Northern trail head for the Oregon Coast trail.

ChinookWinds Casino & Outlet Stores, Lincoln City, OR

We are finally here at Lynne's favorite outlet mall in Lincoln City, OR., staying in the parking lot of Chinook Winds Casino with over 30 other RVs. No hookups however the casino provides WiFi and the satellite works. We were even able to Hulu America's Got Talent show that we missed while at Fort Stevens where the trees were so hugh we couldn't get satellite reception. Decent lunch buffet is $7.99 and they provided free buffet for joining the slot club. Confortable for a few nights as long as you have a generator. Some RVs were here when we stopped on the way to Fort Stevens and were still here on our way back from Fort Stevens. The security people said it was okay to stay for 3 days but they never check how long you stay. Free WiFi. If you don't have an RV the Chinook Winds Casino hotel is available. Pets are ok in some of the rooms and almost all have ocean views with the bottom rooms having back doors leading to the beach. This is from their web site: Chinook Winds Hotel is a beach front hotel owned and operated by the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians. Hotel features include 227 rooms including 49 pet-friendly standard ocean view rooms and 61 junior suites, indoor heated swimming pool, sauna and spa, guest laundromat, full service restaurant and lounge, complimentary shuttle to Casino, and 7,000 square feet of meeting space. As part of the Chinook Winds Casino Resort family, we offer an 18-hole golf course, fitness center, five restaurants, headline entertainers, comedy, a children's play palace, arcade and 24-hour gaming excitement

Mill Casino & RV Park, Coos Bay, OR

We had a choice of the Mill Casino's RV park or parking on the dirt lot next to the RV park. We chose the later with no hookups. On the coast with cool weather, nice little town with Walmart near by. Fee based WiFi is available.
